Support systems

Over the last year Fiji has been hit by several serious cyclones which have damaged not only all public infra structure such as roads, electricity, sanitation and renovation systems but also houses and buildings. As part of the Restoration Plan, Fiji therefore wish to restore all infrastructure in a way that it will be resistant to future storms and cyclones.

Futhermore, due to the unstable financial situation public transportation has not been kept sustainable. Fiji consists of more than 300 islands and therefore public transportation systems are crucial for the coherence of society. Therefore, Fiji also wish to renew all public transportation systems as part of the Restoration Plan.

However, support systems also imply updating of internet systems and telecommunication systems. As many people live in remote areas, communication systems are essential for Fijian society. Therefore, renewal of the communication systems is an essential part of the Restoration Plan of Fiji.
