National De Jur Asembly of Fiji

Food

Most modern food production results in degraded land and imbalances in nature. However, over the last year, many people in Fiji have returned to their native land and have started growing food again. This reconnection with the land is not only healing for the people but also for the land. True healing is connected to a deep understanding of what to plant, and when to plant it, and also how to keep the soil alive. In many places where modern techniques have taken over food production, you would see foreign plants and trees which do not belong to the local eco-system and those foreign plants and trees are creating a vulnerable natural environment.

A part of the restoration of local food production, the National De Jur Assembly of Fiji therefore also wishes to restore the land by planting original plants and native species which belong to the area. This will create a balanced nature, an abundant local food production, self-sufficiency and self-healing. Furthermore, soil will regenerate, local biodiversity will explode and the water tables will start to refill. An abundant local food production is therefore deeply connected to healing of the land and healing of the people. That understanding will slowly reveal itself when we go within and connect with our higher selves.
